During the Prime-95 test I noticed from HWMonitor that several ram sticks were running at 99 to 100 C while others were at 82 to 90 but with no problems. I read elsewhere on the forum today that someone had a similar problem and it was suggested that one of the memory sticks is flaky when cold but OK when warmed up and that would explain what I experience. If the computer stays alive for 15 minutes, it never crashes. I have run Memtest-86 overnight with no errors and Prime-95 for 3 or 4 hours without any errors. The messages are quite varied and don't point toward a specific driver or program as far as I can tell. Everything seemed fine for several months but now I often get a BSOD either during startup but usually within 5 or 10 minutes of logging in and starting work. I "upgraded" to win7-home and was fine until recently when I upgraded to Win8-Pro in order to get the second cpu recognized. ![]() ![]() I have an old (2006) water cooled dual Xeon workstation that was my bread and butter using XP-64bit until it retired to be my home computer.
